Merry Christmas!

Luckily, we had a small Christmas planned this year with no one coming or going through the airport! It was just Peter, Mom, Mark, and I up at Mom's house. We went up mid-afternoon on Christmas Eve, and Mom cooked up a storm! The feast included some polenta appetizers, homemade spinach pasta and 2 sauces, a giant salad, and some great bread. The pasta was delicious! We were all stuffed. Mom was scheduled to work on Christmas day, so we opened all of our presents last night, too-what fun! I think everyone got great presents. Some highlights of mine included a ski ticket, some good knives, and tons of books-many to prepare me for my travels! Luckily I was the one with the camera, so caught everyone else looking silly at some point-haha! It was almost 1:00 a.m. by the time we were finished unwrapping-with a break for some dessert.

Mom got an extra Christmas present this morning and didn't have to go in to work! She has the most seniority at work now, so she didn't have to go in since it wasn't busy. Hooray! We got a nice brunch of eggs, bacon, homemade muffins, and mimosas. After we ate, Mark went to visit some family members, and Peter and I opened our stockings, and then I taught Mom and Peter how to play Texas Hold 'Em! Unfortunately, both Peter and I are sick....I tried not to be too grouchy although I felt pretty lousy this morning! Finally, Peter and I gathered up all our loot and headed home....with a slight delay caused by Peter having to push my car up Mom's slippery road! We definitely had a white Christmas....on top of the 40 inches of snow Mom got, it was snowing hard most of Christmas Eve too-so pretty! It was a little less enjoyable when I couldn't get my car up my short little driveway tonight and had to park outside-the driveway is a SHEET of ice. Ah, well....wouldn't want me to get too lazy over break, now would we? I hope everyone is having wonderful holidays!

Alright, now to post some pictures....

Loved your account of Christmas! How well I can remember your Mom's good cookin'...lucky you! We had a NON-WHITE Christmas, and missed that part of the holiday. Greetings to all!
