Go, Rockies!

After last nights game, I have to celebrate (especially in case my parade is rained on soon). Padres: in 1st place for the wild card in the National League, on a 7-game winning streak, and at home. Rockies: 4.5 games back, on a 5-game winning streak, and on the road. Rockies were up 1-0 until the Padres hit a single homer in the 9th to tie it. Finally, in the 14th inning, the Rockies win it! Woohoo! Way to go, guys!

Sunday update: this parade hasn't been rained on yet! Rockies swept the Padres in San Diego, winning 8 straight and moving within 1.5 games of the wild card-yippee!

Top of their division, but we have more wins. :) NL West is a tough world to live in!

Sorry Deb....this was a comment on a Rockies chat group..."Anyone else feel gypped that the lowly Cubs who are only 84-76 clinched? It's the best argument yet against the current division system. The Cubs could potentially finish 7th place in the league and still make the playoffs. Do you really want the 7th place team representing your league in the World Series?"

And yes, of COURSE I'm bitter that we lost last night when we HAD to win! And that we won 11 straight games to only move up 3 games! Baaaah!
